Becky Farley
PhD, MS, PT
Dr. Becky Farley is a physical therapist with 25 years of experience working with persons with Parkinson’s disease (PwPD). She is a neuroscientist with experience in motor control and neurophysiology. During her postdoc, she received NIH funding to translate the theoretical principles of LSVT LOUD to the training of amplitude in the limb motor system. But her real passion became reality as the founder and chief science officer for the nonprofit Parkinson Wellness Recovery (PWR!). Part of that vision was the creation of a model community center where PwPD have access to neuroplasticity-principled PD-specific rehab interventions and exercise programs for LIFE, with a function-first focus. To increase access to this type of programming, she and other PWR! faculty have trained over 16,000 physical and occupational therapists and exercise professionals to collaborate, refer bidirectionally, and provide a shared focus on PD-specific functional exercise to improve and sustain functional mobility and functional fitness.
